  • Στη σύσκεψη όλοι συμφωνούσαν εκτός από έναν συνάδελφο. Είπε ότι το σχέδιο εξαρτάται από μία μόνο εταιρεία και αυτό είναι κίνδυνος. Στην αρχή θύμωσα, αλλά μετά κατάλαβα ότι είχε δίκιο. Τελικά βρήκαμε συμβιβασμό και αλλάξαμε τα μισά.

At the meeting everyone agreed except one colleague. He said that the plan depended on one single company, and that this was a risk. At first I got angry, but then I understood he had been right. In the end we found a compromise and changed half of it.

Comprehension questions

The questions are asked in Russian on purpose: we test your understanding of the text, not your ability to read the question.

  1. What risk did the colleague see?
  2. How did the narrator react at first?
  3. How did it all end?

Frequently asked

What level do you need to read this text in Greek?

A2. That means: you know the letters and have a stock of everyday words — about two or three hundred.

How to read a text in an unfamiliar language usefully?

First all the way through without peeking at the translation — just to catch the familiar words. Then with the translation. Then all the way through again: the second pass brings noticeably more, and that feeling matters more than any rule.
