Text

Today we argued at work about working from home. I think it is a good option: time on the road is saved. But I do not think it is good for everyone: many colleagues need to talk face to face. Although we have different opinions, we came to a compromise: two days at the office and three at home. In the end, the main thing is that the work be done well.

Comprehension questions

The questions are asked in Russian on purpose: we test your understanding of the text, not your ability to read the question.

  1. What did they argue about at work?
  2. Why does the hero think it is a good option?
  3. What do many colleagues need?
  4. What compromise did they reach?

Frequently asked

What level do you need to read this text in Catalan?

B1. That means: you know the letters and have a stock of everyday words — about two or three hundred.

How to read a text in an unfamiliar language usefully?

First all the way through without peeking at the translation — just to catch the familiar words. Then with the translation. Then all the way through again: the second pass brings noticeably more, and that feeling matters more than any rule.
