Text

  • M'agrada molt l'esport. Els dissabtes jugo a futbol amb els amics al parc. L'entrenament comença a les quatre i dura dues hores. Corro de pressa amb la pilota i a vegades marco un gol. Quan perdem, no passa res: val la pena jugar.
I love sport very much. On Saturdays I play football with friends in the park. The training begins at four and lasts two hours. I run fast with the ball and sometimes score a goal. When we lose, no big deal: playing is worth it.

Comprehension questions

The questions are asked in Russian on purpose: we test your understanding of the text, not your ability to read the question.

  1. When does he play football?
  2. Where do the games take place?
  3. How long does the training last?
  4. What does he say about losses?

Frequently asked

What level do you need to read this text in Catalan?

A1. That means: you know the letters and have a stock of everyday words — about two or three hundred.

How to read a text in an unfamiliar language usefully?

First all the way through without peeking at the translation — just to catch the familiar words. Then with the translation. Then all the way through again: the second pass brings noticeably more, and that feeling matters more than any rule.
